Taking A Break This Week

Starting tomorrow, June 16, I’ll be in Dallas, Texas on a vacation of sorts.
I’ll be returning this Saturday, June 20.  During this time I’ll be away form my desk and my computer. Thus, I’ll be doing little to no work. I can still be reached at alex@octoberpromotional.com for any questions or inquiries.

What I’ve Been Up To + Special Announcement

The past two months have been the busiest two I’ve had to date. I’ve been busy taking on new clients, keeping up with return clients, juggling design and Of Rome, advertising, promoting, and living my life somewhere in there when free time arises.

I’ve been busy with just about everything… album art, tshirts, myspace layouts, logo design. You name it, I’ve probably done it in ‘09.  The work load has become too much for one person to bear and still maintain sanity. With that being said, I’ve been on the look out for new talent to become part of October and in turn become my partner in crime.

After a good while with no luck, I came across the work of a dude that impressed me, to the say the least.  I spoke with him and we jumped in on a few new projects to see how things would work. He and I collaborated on a few MySpace layouts, and I shot a few of my clients his way to see how it would go. Needless to say, he excelled with client relations and independent work just as well as he did working with me.  With all that in mind, I would like to announce Dustin Nance from the fine state of Texas as part of the October team! Dustin will be readily available to work on any and all current and upcoming projects. He and I excel in different styles of design, thus October has become more diverse in the work we produce.  With no further ado, here’s a load of new work from October.

ALBUM ART

New Layout: The Asylum

A metal band from Arizona, The Asylum, challenged me to design something more elaborate than I’ve done to-date.  I just wrapped up a layout for them at www.myspace.com/theasylum. I teamed up with another great designer, Jordan Andree, to develop a flash header for this layout. This is something I can do for anyone wanting flash on their layout! I also included an interactive contact box with rollovers. Check it out!

New Gentlemen & Scholars Layout

Things have been insanely busy in the world of October (and Of Rome) this month. I’ve completed lots of work and gained countless new clients. Not all of my new work gets posted on here, but here’s a new layout for Gentlemen & Scholars–newly signed to Torque Records. I’ll also be designing the art for their new album on Torque, so keep an eye out for that!

My New Clothing Line: OF ROME

After months of careful planning, research, and preparation I have finally launched my new clothing line called Of Rome. Here’s a direct excerpt from the blog over at www.iamofrome.com.

It’s finally here!  What you’re seeing is the product of many months of planning, emailing, researching, and work.
After seeing many a clothing company come and go, I finally took it upon myself to create one that I love whole-heartedly. Everything available on the new line has been maticulously designed and prepared to fit what I had in mind for Of Rome.

The Roman empire was one of great legacy. While it has left a lasting mark upon the history of the world as we know it, it was shrouded in many things other than glory. The Romans eventually met their downfall, as do all humans. To say “I am of Rome”  is to say you are a human being. Someone who is going to live your life as it may come. We’re all going to meet our downfall in the end, so I see no better way than to leave a legacy of your own.

My name is Alex and I am of Rome.  Are you?
